Capacity Development

Philosophy

Our capacity development philosophy is based on an anti-oppressive and critical approach, grounded in the knowledge of practitioners. This approach aims to tackle the structural roots of violent extremism, recognizing the inequalities and discrimination that fuel it. It promotes inclusion and respect for diversity to reduce the profiling and stigmatization of vulnerable groups. By encouraging critical reflection, such an approach makes it possible to understand the complexity of violent radicalization processes and to strengthen the capacities of individuals and communities to act effectively in preventing extremism.

Activities

Our capacity development activities are evidence-based, drawing on existing consensus in the field. They offer transformative learning experiences, promoting decentering, critical thinking, and an ecosystemic, multi-sectoral approach. Through practical exercises and tools such as case discussions, simulations and participatory learning strategies, we aim to create communities of engaged professionals and to promote safer, trauma-informed prevention environments.
