Evelise Carvalho

Research Visitor

Evelise is a Forensic and Clinical Psychologist and a PhD candidate in Digital Culture at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), researching how extremism is translated within Brazilian gaming communities. She also holds a master's degree in forensic psychology and a Diploma in Forensic and Criminal Psychology, with further specialization in online antisocial behaviour.

During her time at CPN-PREV, a Brazil-Canada comparative study will be conducted, examining how players in both countries perceive and experience content moderation and sanction systems for extremist and hateful content in online gaming. Beyond this research, Evelise looks forward to actively engaging with CPN-PREV's network through its training sessions, events, and knowledge-sharing activities throughout her visit.

Her research interests include video games, gaming culture, extremism, online misogynist groups, online gender-based violence, and safety by design.
