LATEST NEWSBuilding on the momentum created by the Prevention of Violent Extremism (PVE) capacity development workshops held in Charlottetown (Prince Edward Island) and Halifax (Nova Scotia) in March 2026, CPN-PREV, in collaboration with the Canada Centre for Community Engagement and Prevention of Violence, continued its efforts in Atlantic Canada by offering a two-day interdisciplinary training workshop in Fredericton, New Brunswick, on June 18 and 19, 2026.
On May 28, CPN-PREV’s Director and Founder, Ghayda Hassan, alongside Associate Director, zeina ismail-allouche, co-presented a keynote at the annual BGC (Boys and Girls Clubs) conference in Winnipeg.
This March, CPN-PREV’s Community of Practice—vPiP— delivered two capacity development training sessions on the Prevention of Violent Extremism (PVE) in Atlantic Canada, in Prince Edward Island (March 9–10) and Halifax, Nova Scotia (March 12–13). Over 80 frontline practitioners across mental health, social work, youth services, education, law enforcement, policy, and community development convened.
From February 23 to 25, the Canadian Practitioners Network for the Prevention of Extremist Violence (CPN-PREV) was pleased to convene a three-day co-design workshop hosted at the Centre for the Study of Learning and Performance (CSLP) at Concordia University. The workshop was designed by Zeina Ismail Allouche and co-facilitated with Ghayda Hassan.
