German–Canadian Virtual Practitioner Dialogue on Disengagement and Exit from Violent Extremism

How can practitioners share knowledge and best practices across borders in disengagement and exit work?

On October 6, 2026, the Interdisciplinary Centre for the Prevention of Radicalisation and Promotion of Democracy (IZRD e.V.) brings together practitioners and experts from Germany and Canada for a virtual professional exchange. The event is organised as part of the joint project dist[ex] – Development of a Network for Disengagement and Exit Work, in cooperation with the Canadian Practitioners Network for the Prevention of Extremist Violence (CPN-PREV).

The programme combines expert inputs on methods of disengagement and exit work used in both countries, moderated breakout rooms discussions on emerging challenges across different forms of extremism as well as presentations of practical tools and resources for P/CVE practitioners.

The event is intended for practitioners and other professionals involved in disengagement and exit work.

The detailed programme is currently being finalised and will follow shortly.

Would you like to be notified as soon as registration opens?

We look forward to discussing what works, what remains challenging, and what we can learn from one another.
